Propozition helps major UK bidder transform in-house bidding capability

A major UK bidder had enjoyed a run of success in major bids, to which we at Propozition had made some contribution.

We felt that there was significant scope for the business to improve the effectiveness of it’s own resources and to therefore become less reliant on the outside support of a business like ours.  The managing director agreed.

Our initial engagement was to bring an independent ‘warts and all’ view of the current position and opportunity to the board.  Specifically we commissioned and analysed:

  • Detailed bid staff questionnaires
  • Workshops with staff members
  • In-depth recorded interviews with recipients of this organisation’s bids (both winning and losing),

all of which identified a number of opportunities.

We drew together a package of recommendations and presented this to the board – which were broadly accepted and implemented.

We continued in an active role, facilitating some of the changes including hiring of resources, the development of better bid processes and the design and implementation of supportive technology.

Propozition brought fresh insight to my executive team.

This persuaded us to embark on a necessary programme of change to improve the way we bid for major projects.

The results of this activity are already emerging with an enhanced win rate, reduced bid process risk and lower costs.
